Practical notes

A few things worth knowing.

Small preparations that leave more room to enjoy the day.

Plan for the day you are visiting

The market, shops, museums and places of worship do not share a single opening schedule. Sundays, public holidays and religious observances can change what is accessible. Check the specific places that matter most to you before setting out.

Leave room for the weather

Carry water, sun protection and something suitable for rain. Take breaks and adapt the walking distance to your comfort. A plan with indoor options and spare time will be easier to adjust than a tightly scheduled list.

A city shared with its residents

Keep doorways and pavements clear. Ask before taking portraits or entering religious spaces. Keep belongings close in busy areas and use designated crossings. If a visit does not feel right for the conditions, change the plan.
