Start with the operator’s network map
Use Metro Express’s interactive map to check whether your starting point is served and whether a connection is needed. Choose your city arrival in relation to the first place you want to visit. A map pin close to an attraction does not establish a convenient walking connection. Check the station exit and pedestrian crossings rather than drawing a straight line across roads.
Choose the appropriate ticket
The operator describes two basic options for a visitor, a single-use paper ticket or a prepaid MECard. Adult MECards and single-use tickets can be purchased at station ticket machines. Read the displayed destination and fare before completing the purchase. Do not assume a resident or student concession applies to you simply because a reduced category appears on a screen.
Validate at both ends
Metro Express instructs passengers to validate their ticket or MECard before boarding and after getting off. These are the tap-on and tap-off steps at the station scanners. Keep the ticket or card accessible throughout the journey. If you are unsure that validation worked, ask staff before continuing instead of assuming the purchase alone completed the travel process.
Check the return with current information
The operator’s web pages contain some older timetable notices. For your travel day, confirm running times, fare and any disruption directly through the operator’s current information or station staff. Do this before settling into a long city visit. Keep a record of your return station and a meeting point if your group separates. This article does not provide a live timetable or claim that the airport has a direct Metro connection.
Before you go
Do I validate only when boarding?
No. The operator requires validation before boarding and again after alighting, for both the MECard and single-use ticket.
Can I use the times from any old web notice?
No. Confirm current operating information for your date. Older notices can remain online after their original period.
